Example Packing - 7 Day Trip

7 day trip to Florida

To avoid spending an extra $70 for a carry on, I'm packing everything I'm taking in my one alloted "Personal Item." I mean, budget airlines are great because you get to fly cheaply, but they get you on the luggage. So I'm packing light :)

Following my guidelines on how to decide what to bring, I've brought items that can be worn with multiple other items. I've laid out what I'll be wearing to the airport separately.

Total clothing inventory includes:
Vertical Divider
2 pairs of yoga pants
2 pairs of shorts: one for exploring, one nice
2 pairs of pants: one simple, one colorful
2 tank tops
3 t-shirts
1 long sleeve
1 nice shirt
2 long sleeve cover up items to stay warm
1 dress
1 night gown
1 bathing suit
1 bra
1 sports bra
7 pairs of underwear
4 pairs of socks
1 pair of sandals
1 jean jacket
1 scarf

In addition to bringing clothes, I'm also delivering some items to my grandmother, whom I'll be visiting. I've got a bottle of vitamins (not shown), reading and journaling material, some documents, and old photographs to share. Luckily, I just went to the dentist, so I have a new toothbrush, travel size toothpaste, and floss. I'm packing facial wipes to freshen up after I get off the flight and some vitamin C drink mix to keep my immune system up to speed.

Regular personal items:
A small wristlet to have easily accessible during travel and a larger bag for once I arrive and will be out and about. The small wristlet also serves as a classier alternative to the brightly colored over-the-shoulder bag I've chosen to bring which is nice for going out to dinner, or out for drinks.

All packed up in my awesome TOPO Designs bag. Seriously, the best investment I think I've made yet. I have my water bottle ready to be filled at the airport, after security, of course. I've also packed my phone charger and some small headphones. And that's it! I'll let you know how it goes!

BON VOYAGES!
UPDATE: Feedback on this packing job.
I could have gone with one less pair of shorts. And, maybe added a pair of socks. Other than that, I had just enough! It ended up being colder than I anticipated, so maybe I should also check the weather more often.

Still learning and refining the process!
